67 Peru Trekking Tour

from:

Peru is a beautiful country situated in South America. Anyone who has already had the opportunity of visiting this country will know that it has breathtaking landscape which include the fabulous mountain scenery of the Andes or Incas and the lush nature of the rainforest. When in Peru there are hundreds of ways to enjoy this beauty. For those of you who like to be adventurous a Peru trekking tour is just the thing. Trekking, also known as hiking, is an incredible way to experience the nature of your surroundings, as it is a sport that consists of walking through the rainforests and mountain ranges and camping out during the nights. A Peru trekking tour can range from beginners to advanced depending on the fitness and experience of the trekkers.

Peru holds many exciting adventures and in a Peru trekking tour you get to choose your own adventure. There are many different trails in many different locations so it is important to read up on all of them before deciding on the most appropriate for you. Here are just a few of the many trails that one can find on a Peru trekking tour.

Probably the easiest and shortest trail you can find is called the Short Inca Trail. This trail takes two days, which is good for those with limited time, or those who want to have a relaxing hike. The trail begins at km104 and ascends up to the old ruins of Winay Wayna. After going through the ruins the trail continues on to Machu Picchu. A slightly longer trail is the Classic Inca Trail and is classified as moderate. This trail again takes you to Machu Picchu by following the ancient route that used to be used by the Incas. It passes through both the incredible mountain scenery and the lush green rainforests of the country. For those who are interested in history this is a very suitable trail as there are many Inca ruins located along the way including Runkuracay, Sayacmarca, Phuyupatamarca and Wiñay Wayna.

Because the Classic Inca Trek is so popular it fills up pretty quickly during the high seasons of a Peru trekking tour. If there were no space left in this trek another popular alternative would be the Mollepata- Salkantay - Santa Teresa - Machu Picchu. This trek takes five days and is classified as moderate to difficult. The first three days of the trek involve quite a diffucult trek to Santa Teresa. The fourth day is more relaxing and involves just a short trek and a short train ride to Aguas Calientes. The last day involves visiting Machu Picchu and finally returning to Cusco. All these trails begin and end in Cusco but there are many others that start in places like Arequipa and Huaraz. A peru trekking tour is undoubtedly an unforgettable experience and one that would be recommended to anyone who appreciates true beauty.
